So if you don't vote at the next election are you no longer a labour man with labour views that's what I was trying to say, I didn't vote in this election but have done so in every one since 1978 and have always voted Tory

All parties had a mix of good and bad policies, the issue that concerned me was the economy. I am not wealthy by any stretch of the imagination but I have a couple of policies maturing soon and , together with my pension pot, they rely on a strong economy and like it or not a buoyant FTSE in order to keep growing. Labours problem for me was a lack of trust, I could foresee them maxing out on the Country's credit card and then going to the magic money tree in the fairy and unicorn garden to try and pay it back. The whole cycle would then begin again.

  3. I class myself as working class and I've been royally fooked by the Tories over the last few years. Can I have a job at your place Glynn?

Are you referring to this forum and this thread?

I've not picked up on that at all!

I class myself as an typical swing voter - I should be bread and butter for the Lib Dems - but whilst I accept the limitations of each parties beliefs, I maintain that people voted Tory because there is a feeling of at least you know what you are getting, whereas Labour simply have not demonstrated that fact during the last parliament.

I find it unusual that anyone that actually makes an allegiance with a party did not vote for them.

You may be right. But I think you may be surprised how popular Labour suddenly become again once the present lot start getting sleazy as they did in the last two terms of their previous stint.

To be honest I couldn't be bothered, the Conservatives around here have no opposition, I think second were 18000 votes behind, so I went for a pint instead

  12. Yep I agree @SweeneyTodd no one has been abusive this has been quite a mild thread for such a hot topic.

  15. Well  shame on you! we could have all made a difference but no now we have to stick with austerity measures! The election is not a popularity contest like X factor-it's has serious consequences for our future & the future of our kids, as MJ said the children are our future! :D

  17. So in short. You went to vote, decided all the candidates were w@nkers, went to the pub instead and then post to advise you are a Tory who always votes but didnt this time. That you can't be bothered and that anyone displaying a bit of fire on the subject of the election is being abusive. Have I missed anything.

I voted conservative because the man that came round said my life would be much better if I did. But I got my wife to vote Labour because the labour man that came round had a limp and we felt sorry for him.
