I've decided it's time to move on and grow up a touch. I bought this amazing machine about 5 years ago to relive my youth and, when I have been able to drive, I've loved every minute if it. But sadly I just can't keep them all. Some details: F Reg (1988) Brand New 12 months MOT (07/02/2022) Small bumpers (for the authentic 80’s look) Helios Blue A file of Service History (including full VW book pack etc.) 161,329 Miles (I’ll be using her for the odd trip so will go up slightly until sold) I've spent a lot of time making sure she is stock and beautiful and it's paid off. Recent work includes: Recent work includes: New fuel lines; New knock sensor; Gear linkage renewed; Recent full service including, Oil, Air Filter, Spark Plugs, Fuel Filter, everything lubed inc linkages and full car inspection; Cam belt and tensioner replaced; Water pump replaced; Genuine correct metal cambelt cover sourced and painted gloss black together with brand new genuine VW fasteners and rubber grommets sourced; Rocker cover cleaned and repainted in gloss black; New brake bias regulator; Rear brake strip and full brake bleed; New plastic dip stick guide; Brand new genuine Bosch distributor from GSF (expensive these days!); Recent matching tyres all round having done less than 2000 miles; New various vacuum hoses and gaskets/boots; Earth wiring points replaced; Near side front window winder mechanism replaced; Excellent, unmarked front GTI grill sourced (no broken tabs here); Full suspension rebuild by Volkstop. All the original shocks, springs, hardware etc. reinstated. Rides as stock height and the handling is incredible – exactly how it should be; Brand new full exhaust system from down pipe back including stainless rear twin pipes; Faithfully reproduced supplying dealer number plates, rear window sticker and Tax Disc holder. Try to find another with that!; Upgraded Alpine speakers in front of dash and rear side pods to the parcel shelf. The parcel shelf itself is uncut and perfect. You either love or hate the small bumper look. Personally, I prefer the small bumpers as it keeps the weight down and doesn’t hide any creeping rust under the oversized bumpers and side skirts. Had a few over the years , if had the spare cash I'd be very tempted....don't need one and would find it hard to justify buying one at the moment ....BUT the daughter is 17 in 2.5 years so we're getting close to needing another car.... Although I think I'd struggle to justify anything with an 'i' in the model name
