  1. Feel much safer and happier now.

Fuel filter fitted outside of engine bay under fuel tank.

  2. My fuel filter is still in the engine bay, but I've changed it to a metal type, not the £2 plastic one anymore.

  4. its not the filter thats wrong moving it gives you less joins in the fuel line .less leaky bits :D

  8. My fuel filter is in the engine bay, and Ive fitted it between the fuel pump and the carb, the worst possible place I'm told, I will be taking it out of the engine bay over the winter, I'm quite particular about my engine and check all the fuel lines b4 every journey, and I like to have things like these where I can see them and check there condition and I've used proper hoses and good fuel line clips, so I cant see how it would leak, but as most people on here seem to agree, the less connections you have in the engine bay the better, so it's coming out ........... oh and I have an automatic fire extinguisher in the engine bay.

The filters themselves are a problem too, not just the connections. I have seen them melt on tinware and other engine bits.

  12. It all goes back to how particular you are with you engine, mine is ty-wraped out of the way so it doesn't touch anything, and is changed out yearly !
