hope she stays safe. It is a bit amazing that nhs don’t have enough PPE :(

  2. Not sure where us trades types will get our materials from if the wholesalers are shut!

You won't. Businesses to the wall, massive debt, massive unemployment. You know what they say, we're two meals from Armageddon or summat. Everything runs "just in time" on the brink of failure these day does it not? Storing things is a thing of the past because nobody likes to have money tied up in stock. The NHS would have been under attack for stock piling stuff for an emergency that might never happen if they had done so - including PPE for staff because it's not considered sound business behaviour and the clipboards rule the roost.

It's the perfect sh1tstorm. I have a friend in that there London on the canals, he has quite a few boats because he likes boats. The ones he doesn't live on have already been turned over.

Boris is having to point out that a portion of the public are a bit thick, thinking that if you're outdoors you're immune. People in groups eating their scranny outside the café because it's only doing takeaway, people having parties in their gardens. It would have been better if it had carried on peeing down with rain, damping down air born poop and making it easier to stay indoors. The sunny weekend we've had will be looked back on as a bad thing, the timing couldn't have been worse. Personally, I stayed in. Totally. Not been out.

    Yep.

It would be interesting / worrying to see a graph of how many folk have caught it this weekend, bet it has shot up.. :(

People will always let you down. Because of these people who refuse to take it seriously, we'll end up with armed police on the streets enforcing curfew. Serves us right.

We’ve have a cafe in our village offering takeaways only, and free deliveries to the elderly. There has been a crowd of people standing and sitting around on the pavement all weekend, so the owner is getting stick. She’ll end up closing totally and the people she was delivering to will have to do without.

  8. Camping and Caravan Club have just confirmed that their sites are now fully closed (Initially they said they were open and only the showers etc were shut.)

  9. Good job the police force hasn’t had massive cuts for years on end then

Oh wait hang on a min it has just like the nhs

Maybe that’s why Boris isn’t wanting a lockdown because there’s not much hope of enforcing it and when people realise that things become even more dangerous and not just from the virus.

  11. Beyond a fecking joke out there today. Went upt Dale to take mother some shopping, campervans here there and everywhere, every reservoir car park in the Washburn valley over flowing, each footpath sign on the roadside had at least one car parked there. Pateley Bridge full of motorbikes.
    FFS get a grip.

I don't know if it's a new thing because I haven't watched before but I was impressed that for once Boris and his medical people were explaining the WHY of the behaviour they recommend, how that helps and how being outdoors is no protection at all if you gather together and the mechanics of transmission behind that advice. I suspect this is down to the lady on the right who is not a politician.
Also Boris explaining that if people won't behave sensibly, they will be made to so they have a choice. Good stuff. I'm pleasantly surprised and I like Boris's reasonably relaxed and chatty approach. Can't believe I just typed that!

Meanwhile Trump is using it to try and win the next election, lucky we just had ours?

  15. Both me and the missis are in industries that means we’ll both be out working once we’re out of isolation (I’ve got some kind of bug) with her likely to be on wards as an ITU nurse. I do hope people take the advice and isolate where needed.

..I still cant beleave whats happening..if people dont take it seriously we will be done..some ppl still have a lough about it @nd do the opposite they have been told to do..especially the elderly..as my wife is a NHS worker they are all hers potential patients..now loughing then crying and shouting and demanding familis at the hospitals staff..now hospitals..the one my wife works in has had one confirmed case about a week ago..at first there was no masks avaliable so my wife suggested she has one st home so she could use it..guess what shes been told shes not allowed to to it..I made her complain to the heads and then they appologee and ler he do it..now shes in self isolation as am I for 14 weeks..she developed some symptoms she is a nhs staff but no tests..test test test you hear out there..but the reality is what it is..my wife will be back to work in two weeks time..straight into hell..Im scared like never before in my entire life..plus my parents stuck in there house over in Poland..at least there ppl take it siriously and theres more discipline and the police out on the streets..I see it all in grey colours..ps some my wifes works collegues still making jokes about the whole virus thing and accuse my wife of making it up in her head..but we will see what the future brings..

  17. We always have a stock pile of ammo and arms in case of war.
Lets hope after all this is over the NHS gets whatever is needed to cope in future.
    Our priorities are wrong!

Cuts to the police, army, NHS, Social Care, teachers, Councils etc are going to come back and bite us on the ass.
The bankers were bailed out and 'wealth creators' & rich people get tax breaks etc. What the fxxk are they doing in this crisis?

People will hopefully start to realise its the cleaners, support workers, delivery drivers and Nurses etc who are doing the important roles in Society.
Lets hope they cut these 'key workers' some serious tax breaks like they do for 'entrepreneurs'.

  18. I was watching TV while having breakfast, apparently Giggs and the other one, are letting NHS staff use Hotel Football in Manchester free of charge. Good on them I say, we need more of this, well done Giggs and the other one is Neville (I think).
