Slough swap meet at Newbury racecourse who's going

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by Barry Haynes, Oct 12, 2019.

  1. I'm coming. After some great advice from Mike at the September Techenders, I've managed to reconnect my fuel breather pipes and they seem to be working great (no more petrol highs after filling up!!). However, looks like some previous bodger has removed the air thermo valve thingy that sits in the top of the oil bath air cleaner and sealed the two holes up so, I need to try to find one of those and possibly a fuel gauge if I can get one cheap enough. Let me know what time everyone is meeting up for a coffee ;-)

I might come along is it any good? I need a few bits like windscreen seal and door window seals.

  4. Message @Baysearcher Matt. Unless he's given it away he has a used once but otherwise new screen seal of mine that was destined for Tech ender's, if he still has it your welcome to it and he's just up the road from you.

Failing that I think I still have an unused one from when I was panicking that ours wasn’t sealing properly. Give it a good punch and now seals so it’s going spare.

There have usually been one or two parts vendors selling new - Stateside Tuning, Schofields, C&C and Megabug I think have been there in the past. JK with catalogues flogging insurance.
Mostly it is fascinating proper autojumble, I have landed several siezed distributors for a few quid, and rebuilt them later. I also have a collection of 1970's service manuals that were £20 each..
I saw secondhand progressive carburettors for under £100..

Can’t remember if anyone had it at Techenders. If not it’ll still be in the garage.

  9. I think I was going to have it but you were probably too drunk to remember to give it to me.

  10. That was the plan I think, those fruit shoots are dangerous.

It's lost forever, never to be seen again or buried under a huge pile of Octonauts.

  11. cheers Razzyh, you're right but it looks like they've now got permission to camp in the car park of the Red House pub. I'm in .... Boozyniteinthepubrus!!!!

  12. I think I might have a decent screen seal that came off my bus. I bought a full seal kit when I did my resto last year so I changed the screen seal as I had it anyway but kept the old one as it was sound. If I can find it ill bring it with me and you can have it for the cost of a pint in the Red House

  13. Probably advisable to call them direct prior to going if your planning on camping in there car park

I think they (red house pub) co own a car park outside the castle pub from what I can tell and the idea is to camp there.

I’ve not seen anything to say about the red house pub.

  15. Apparently they are owned by the same company and I was advised by the Red house pub to stay at the sister Castle pub

I think you just turn up but let us all know otherwise. Usually as long as you drink/eat at the pub your ok.
