Am looking at doing the museum thing with the family and wondered if anyone could recommend a camp site as near as possible to the centre that is within walking of public transport links. Cheers
There is one up the hill from me in Abbeywood SE2 http://www.davidklyne.co.uk/abbey_wood_caravan_and_camping_s.htm I've never camped there, but it's got a train station and good bus links close by. There is one in Crystal Palace also. http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=1387
There is a great site here.... http://www.debdenhouse.com/Campsite/Campsite.html Alows camp fires but is a bus ride to the tube. I have heard good things about the Crystal Palace site but never been there. Don't forget to check this site out for 2 for 1 offers to certian London attractions. You just need to travel into London by mainline train. http://www.daysoutguide.co.uk/2for1-london If you want to eat out then it is worth looking here for lunch and dinner deals. http://www.toptable.com Have a great time. The palace site is just up the road from us, Mrs mh commutes every day to Victoria from palace, And also palace has loads of restaurants and a couple of pubs
Well now it seems there is a new place to stay in central London. Close to all the attractions of the City Of London, near to the tube and with a great view. You could join the folks at St Paul's. How they would feel about someone rocking up in a bus though, I just don't know!!!
I've stayed at the Abbeywood site with my gf's parents during the summer, in their caravan. It's a really nice site and I couldn't believe how nice it was considering the surrounding area. The overground station is about 5 mins walk and it costs about
