What type of air do I need to put in my aircooled engine? I'm thinking scandanavian as its already cold whereas Egyptian air may take longer to do the trick?

How are rear bumpers attached to the bumper brackets? Mine are on with bolts (similar to the front one) but I haven't seen any others like this?

Bolts should be 2 top, 2 bottom each bracket. They should be coach bolts so you just see the domed head. The brackets are hard to come by - maybe yours has home fabricated brackets that fit differently?

Cool. I'll see if I can get a pic tomorrow. One of my brackets are definitely home-made by the looks of it. The other looks standard but was only in place by one bolt through the bumper.

Stealing one of poptop's examples, what's the right sort of tyre pressure for 185/65 15s?

Also, am I allowed silver on black number plates? The van was registered in March '73 but has a manufacture date of November '72, which I think means I'm ok, but does anyone know for sure?

We can't stop here, this is bat country!

This seems like the right thread for my next question!
I have a riviera and have been cleaning the pop top. I've done all the bits I can reach from the ground and a step, but there's still a dirty strip up the middle.
My question is do you think the roof would take my weight if I climb up on it? I weigh 14st.

If there's any ladies reading this, that's 14st of muscle!

I have a riviera and have been cleaning the pop top. I've done all the bits I can reach from the ground and a step, but there's still a dirty strip up the middle.
My question is do you think the roof would take my weight if I climb up on it? I weigh 14st.

If there's any ladies reading this, that's 14st of muscle!

i'd use steps , a soft broom and warm water , i don't think i would go on the roof 13 .5 stone .

I've been using a pad of scotchbrite with diluted bleach and then waxing and it's coming up a treat. Be a shame not to do the lot the same way. I'll take your advice though and not get up there.
Gaffer scotchbrite onto the broom could work!
