Horrible weather down here today.

 

Quiet again on Barnsley beach

 

Apparently in days gone by, Malcolm Donald, a member of our sailing club went aground on Ryde Sands, got out, walked the boat back out, and went on to win the Gold Roman Bowl.

I have also seen the Portsmouth to Ryde fast catamaran ferry see a gap in the yachts just behind us, give it some welly and go straight up the sandbank . Much black smoke later, they got off again.

 

We were paddling around in one of those inflatable canoes in the Helford River, saw a tree looked like it was full of plastic bags. Went to investigate, turned out to be white egrets.

 

What do you expect, it's Tuesday.

 

Market day tmoro so not going anywhere near

 

Never knew they had palm trees in Barnsley...

 

You'd be surprised what they have got in Barnsley.

This lot didn't know I was on my way to eat a melty slow cooked "blade" of beef ..... so no animals were harmed in the taking of this photo.

Cows were agreeable to a nights stay

 

In addition to the one we saw we heard one other message about a yachts aground, I suppose its the high risk strategy, for this particular boat they were winning nothing. One off the rescue service boats was standing off so they were never in danger.

 

Poor photo, but it’s a barn owl with it’s unfortunate prey in its talons, saw it a couple of evenings ago on our dog walk
