    Strangely he was found yesterday evening in the dining room but no long living. I’m not quite sure of cause of death he looked like he had been squashed a bit behind his neck so wonder if he sustained an injury squeezing through the skirting?

    :( I dislike my cat at times. Usually she will drop something alive and we can rescue it. Sadly this one didn’t go into the trap so that I could release it alive. I hope it enjoyed the peanut butter I left out overnight for it.

    A rat probably needs more "disabling" than a shrew before you can get it through the cat flap without getting a nasty bite back! I'm sure it was doomed before it even entered your premises.
