Its the opposite of what I like on a holiday.

I prefer the chance to decide to go and drive straight up the side of the Teide volcano on Tenerife on a 1 in 3 hill that goes up about a mile vertical, or walk along the top of the valley side at Chamonix, despite being scared of heights. Or drive hairpin bends in the Pyrenees on a drive to Barcelona. Or try to drive up Pico de Veleta from the south in the Sierra Nevada in Spain in a Ford Fiesta in November, passing the 4x4 only sign about 10 miles back, reaching the snowline. Or hire a Mini Moke because its sitting outside the car hire place on Lefkas. Or drive the Pacific Coast Highway, or cross Death Valley. Or cruise around LA in the hire car.

Not have to be back at the harbour by <time> so we can go to the next place for not long enough.

Being made to go back to the tour bus at Olympia was really annoying.
Being able to spend as long as we liked at old Corinth was really nice, as we had a hire car, or going to Mycenae by local bus was OK because there was a later bus.

That's not quite fair, there's one that does all of the above, based in the South Atlantic, volcanoes, penguins, whale watching, diving, speed boats etc, sounds quite appealing. Might be on my list

Blimey, I take a photo of a bloody big cruise ship moored next to the hotel I was staying in but seem to have created a $hit storm of pro and anti cruisers.

I don't care if people like or dislike cruises, it was just the last picture I took on my phone.....!

 

No storm from me, just pointing out it's not all tweed jackets, twin sets and cocktails

 

Shame it wasn’t a little red corvette

The real kick is that the microphone is a rare beyerdynamic m88n (c) . £300 used ( no joke) , if you can find one ..I’m kinda bad cause I knew it when I bought it ,,,for a Tener,,,
