Ticket to freedom! Had my second vaccination today and can now travel around Europe without quarantining, except the UK... So I'll have to quarantine on the way to my son's wedding in July in Southampton, then again on the way back. Due to work commitments, we'll have two days free in England, and may have to travel back straight after the reception. At least I was given a free vaccine pen.

No, a free pen in the shape of a hypodermic needle will win over the most hardened of vaccine skeptics every time. I looked very closely at mine, and found that it had a tiny metal sphere at the pointy end, just large enough for a nanochip, and probably magnetic. Just saying. I should probably put an irony warning there, just in case I get picked for the England cricket team and this post suddenly emerges.

There was some talk of a large prize lottery for all those who came forward for the jab, but I don't know what happened to that. They initially thought only 60% would want to be vaccinated, but it seems to be higher than that now, even with just a free pen. There is, however, the possibility that I pinched the pen, they didn't explicitly say I could keep it, they just gave one to everyone to fill in the various documents, and there was nowhere obvious to leave it.

 

Are you sure that the "free" pen is not bugged? They (whoever they are) will know exactly where you are, all your details, your banking stuff and be able to track your movements and control you.....maybe!. Or it could just possibly be a cheap free pen!

Apparently the weather's about to deteriorate so we made the effort to get out in the bus for a blast on the last of the hot days for a while. I was keen to see what readings I'd get with my new-ish CHT gauge as the ambient temps nudged the low 80s.

This was after the 1/2 mile descent down to the Eyebrook Reservoir but I did see an indicated 175*C (approx 350*F) on the fast run up. Pleased to see the oil temp never exceeded 90*C...
