    Haha, no not quite! They get covered in wax to stop the graft dehydrating before it's knitted itself to it's new roots.

    Turbo replaced on my daily drive I recently bought
    Paid for by the trader I bought it from but the garage that did the work have been gash and not changed the oil at the same time.
    Neither have they replaced the oil feed banjo bolt containing the strainer.
    Neglecting to do so can lead to premature failure of the new turbo.
    For months now I’ve had problems with my old daily drive and garages not sorting things properly and this new car I’ve had to borrow money to buy it was bought for reliability and I’ve had problems with this and now another garage that doesn’t care to do things properly.

    Apart from things like exhausts and replacing tyres I've been trying to do all the work on our 3 motors (Hundai i20, 2004 Beetle and the Tranny) last time we let a garage do any work they, as you can guess, totally buggered up the job. It was a driveshaft boot on the Beetle - I didn't have the right size tool :oops: to do the job, but ended up taking the car to another garage and billing the first garage :mad: (1st garage was a big chain and didn't like my twitter posts about it).

    Garages seem to be utter shysters
    down here , unable to carry out simple maintenance without screwing it up - shysters I say !!
