Hi all I currently have the 'communal' stash of type 4 end float shims. They were passed on to me by @Ulysses and now that I've finished with them, they are here for the next TLBer to have when needed. The only rule is that you use what you need, put back what you don't need and hold onto them until the next person needs some and if they ask nicely post the shims to them
Excellent idea! Trevor (Ulysses) had all my shims but I do know I have a few other brand new odds and ends in a box, varying from bearing dowel pins to the plastic anti vibration thingamies to barrel spacers. I'll have a look and add to this list over the next few days & do the same in passing them on if needed!
I have the following type 4 parts: 6 unused plastic case to case half vibration dampers 5 used but look reusable bearing dowels 4 square port heat exchanger to cylinder head gaskets (2 L/H and 2 R/H) all new 4 base shims 100 x 109 x 0.7(?) all new 4 cylinder head spacers 93 x 104 x 0.7mm all new Chris set a very fair rule as per the top comment & it also applies to these, use what is needed and pass on to the next person!
