Any electronic gurus, the strobe flashes dim have checked polarity, leads, connections, seems to be zenon as when you touch ir gets brighter. But would expect it to be blackening if faulty.. Model is TL85 Sent from my SM-A405FN using Tapatalk
Dont think it did and was in packaging too, scrap then ? as lamp looks ok... Sent from my SM-A405FN using Tapatalk
That marking at the far end from the tube looks like board washing - the flux has been left behind when the solvent evaporated - I wouldnt worry. What I found on mine was that the capacitor - the big yellow cylinder was either not soldered or faulty - on the side is a rated voltage and capacitance value - kind of thing you can buy on eBay. By the way that unit looks exactly like a Laser timing light from Halfords.
Its just annoying me old one maybe 25 yrs old works but newish one has failed. Chinese remarked I expect. Sent from my SM-A405FN using Tapatalk
7/10 for board layout it's not that bad tbf. Capacitor? as Mike typed. he has way more knowledge than I.
That is a 2uF capacitor - the working voltage is obscured by the small silver trigger capacitor in front of it . Probably something like one of these - watch out a lot of "audiophile valve amp" capacitors out there which have 1000% scene tax. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4x-Capac...616596?hash=item2f49712c54:g:uLAAAOSwWWFfT5MH
