Sealey timing light

  1. Any electronic gurus, the strobe flashes dim have checked polarity, leads, connections, seems to be zenon as when you touch ir gets brighter. But would expect it to be blackening if faulty.. Model is TL85[​IMG][​IMG]

    Has it got wet dude looks like water damage from the back end.

    Looks like something has leaked by the trigger maybe a cap on the other side is it stinky

    That marking at the far end from the tube looks like board washing - the flux has been left behind when the solvent evaporated - I wouldnt worry.

    What I found on mine was that the capacitor - the big yellow cylinder was either not soldered or faulty - on the side is a rated voltage and capacitance value - kind of thing you can buy on eBay.

    By the way that unit looks exactly like a Laser timing light from Halfords.

  12. Its just annoying me old one maybe 25 yrs old works but newish one has failed. Chinese remarked I expect.

    7/10 for board layout it's not that bad tbf.
    Capacitor? as Mike typed. he has way more knowledge than I.
