The butt of jokes on the Morcambe and Wise Show all those years and always took it in good spirit. RIP
In fairness, I'm not sure I remembered he was still alive. He had a great voice, but as Mr Tatty said ^^^ he was the butt of many jokes. RIP
RIP, another of my parents' generation of light entertainers gone, I don't think we'll see the like of them again.
I liked him he always seemed chirpy. My wife’s first crush aged six when she saw him play Buttons at the Birmingham hippodrome.
Sound quality a bit iffy. He could sing too. With fab Shirley and Tom Jones https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2nw4k7
One of his records was on Popmaster last week - Mrs Cunny and I were wondering how old he was - and funny with his cheesy jokes - and a good sport with Morecambe and Wise - RIP Des
