  1. Yep your not wrong but I have a few issues with them:

    1 - Cost
    2 - I don't want a sink innit
3 - I don't want it full width of boot
    4 - Cost

I want to be able to pop the boot, slide a unit out with a 2 ring burner perch on the boot & make a brew & the occasional bacon butty!

Pretty much what we had in the bay but also be able to remove & have in the awning or lob in the garage when on a tip run or lugging building materials!

The units you can buy are brill & do everything, lights, sockets, water & some even having shower attachments which is all a waste for us & with a price tag of well over a grand

  2. Ahh I see

  3. Also want to put the Robo home brew stamp on it too, I've always known about the scene tax but when it comes to accessories for Cali's they don't just have your pants down & roger you they bring all their mates round to so they can have a go! It also seems like the members of the Cali forum I've been reading seem to either accept it or may even enjoy a good gang banging!

my problem is i threw this interior in with zero planning and made it up "ad hoc" trouble is now things like doors by the side of the bed were "no more nails" on and can't be taken off - which is a shame or i'd have had some holes cut into them, i keep looking at all other interiors - really the best option will be tambour doors - i will just keep saving items and mk2 will be better, what is it they say? if you build a house you always build another to get it right? same goes here i guess..... one thing i think for sure is i'll not be buying a flat pack generic set up as i can do better i think.

  5. You can do better but what's more important is that it will be tailored to what you need and what will work for you & how you will use it not mass produced & expensive

    So, door update 2.
The front units both opened out from the middle and the left one had the gas/waste water in, it quickly became evident the one nearest the seat was annoying as we had to shuffle along the seat and peer over/round the door to get stuff out. It seemed the best plan was to swap door hanging and move the gas/waste, this means the left cupboard is now for food etc and can be accessed easily.

After camping last weekend and deciding the telly needed to go up rather than freestanding on a surface we had it precariously balanced on the ledge over the cab with a few place mats to level it up.... Not ideal! Mrs roo was having a nose in @pkrboo 's van and saw he was using a telly bracket, so as I had a couple of them knocking about (neither of which suited) I made 1 out of 2 to suit.

Didn't get much done after that 'cos Smokey and the Bandit was on.
I did manage to put a little shelf in the cupboard though.

  11. You know what Rick I've never been bothered with a TV in the bay but I've done a few trips where I'm left waiting in a car park for an hour or so chilling & I'm thinking a little tele would be good! You must tell me what aerial your using as it gets a good signal in your van!

Nope that's the dab radio aerial

  15. Do you just stick it on when using tv then?

Had to relocate TV bracket, angle wasn't working for me and it was blocking the sink.

It left a small hole where I'd bolted it so it gave me an excuse to fit a light "upstairs"
Little switch turns a strip led on which solved the problem of it being a bit dark when searching upstairs for clothes or if the grandkids go up there.

Partially fitted the durite voltage sensing relay I got off @Robo this morning, got the unit mounted and wires run to both batteries but not connected yet as am waiting on midi fuse holders for each end, bit of a mission to run wires which involved removal of a scuttle plate in the engine bay to get to a grommet to allow access to the cab area, glove box out, passenger seat out, carpet up and wire now sitting by drivers seat (where leisure is) awaiting fuse holder. Used a nice thick cable I had which was for powering a big amp in my jag years ago. Hopefully this should mean the leisure is always charged, I'm wondering if I really need the c-tek permanently on? The only 12v items are led lights at the moment.

  19. Just have the ctek on a switched socket. Now I have the solar I have the ctek switched off, until I get home and want to give the leisure battery a good recon charge

It is, but I'm wondering if it's worth it being in the van at all, split charge will charge both batteries easily.
