  2. Easy enough to do but go for the wide angle replacement , so much better ...

  4. On a related question, what do you do if the seal has perished? Are suitable replacements available?

  5. If you fit a replacement glass all the ones I've bought fit the body without a seal , the grey seal usually means the mirror is a repro but the replacement glass fits when you leave out the seal . Probably easier to buy a new mirror, I've done a few and never managed to refit a seal .

  6. What kind of seal? I repaired the plastic surround of my old mirrors with transparent mastic squirted in with a syringe. Worked pretty well and looked ok.

  7. That's a good point. My seal looks like it's gone hard.

I can't find a replacement seal. Anyone know if a supplier.

  8. Is your seal around the glass hard white-ish plastic?

On one of mine, the seal is just Tiger Seal applied then wiped down with meths to clean it off the glass. To stop water getting behind the mirror.

Yes my seal is hard off white plastic

  11. I picked/broke the bits out of mine with needle nose pliers, then filled a syringe with transparent bath mastic to fill the “slot”. Smoothed it off, and it looked fine. Wouldn’t notice it had been fixed.
