  2. Lost them years ago.

  3. @Pudelwagen . Def worth undoing them while you've got the chance. Sod's law dictates that they'll be solid if you do have a puncture. Only need to slacken them a bit.

  4. Do them at home and copper grease them. Correctly torque them. If the worse then happens at least you know you've done all you could beforehand to make life easier.
BTW @volkswombat , I've not had any issues with those extending braces.

I have managed to trash a 100+ ft lb torque wrench when I tried to undo a wheel nut with it.
But I now have a nice little Machine Mart electric rattle gun that takes the chrome off the wheel nuts really well.

  7. Just stopped at the tyre shop to get me nuts loosened by a beefcake with a rattle gun.
Rattle gun failed on two nuts, so took two monkeys on a 4ft bar to crack em off
    Leftover roast dinner to celebrate.

  9. I thought a little bit of copper grease might help on the Land Rover wheels, torqued them up drove 20 miles rechecked them all good. Wheel fell off a couple of weeks later, so not so sure it was a good idea now. As said the Bay may be a completely different matter but still I was lucky to get away with minor damage and no one ran intio the wheel sitting in the middle of the road in the dark.

Most people would say not to use anything, the grease can spill out and cause the wheel nuts to loosen

  11. Everything clean and clear of lose rust is always important. Copper grease can have a hydraulic effect then when it gets hot becomes a liquid. This is where I worry when people say a little grease. Define a little (bit like What's a little ketchup on your bacon roll). No easy answer but to use individual manufacturers guidelines. Personally I make sure all is clean and free of surface rust a good spray with wd40 or the like and wipe of the studs. Solvent clean the nuts and again light oil. And always make sure the torque wrench turns the nut a bit before it clicks otherwise it must be to tight already

  12. Any tips for getting these off?
