  2. Steel or Alloy? Which paint will depend on what finish you'd like...on steel wheels....blast clean....thin coat of etch primer and then really thin dust coats of Hycote rattle can works well....no laquer required....Alloys? Soft Media blasted to a dull finish will provide a good key for lacquer directly onto surface....will look satin/metallic....or a dust coat of colour of your choice plus lacquer to get a as new finish. If you're using rattle cans (which can be just as good as "pro" spraying if prep and conditions are done properly) get some made up at your local Autopaint place....bigger tins, fresh paint and cheaper....buy some panel wipe while you're there;) and if you can, heat the place you'll be spraying in and keep the tins in warm water

I had my steels stove enamelled....thought it was the way to go at the time 'cos it was (and still is) cheap...looked great until the tyres were put back on and the wheel nuts torqued up.
