Recommend an Awning

  1. Can anyone recommend a good but not expensive awning for out 76 eurovette? Many thanks. :D

  2. Kyham drive away compact :
    Positives :
    Cheap @ £135
Quick to erect (after 4 attempts it's getting easier)
    it's lightweight

    Negatives :
Not very Quick to erect the first 3 times (instructions are about as useful as a chocolate fire guard)
When attached to the bus, if you are not careful when opening the sliding door the attaching part will tear
    The groundsheet is not attached
    The groundsheet is quite useless
Will never ever pack back into the back it arrives in, did I say never ever ? I mean never ever ever !

That's all I have to say about the Kyham, but some people swear by them

  3. Thanks DUB. I'd give you Karma but i cant seem able to. The + & - have disappeared.

    :)

  4. I have a Kyham

Mrs Marowak can put it up in less than 5 Minutes now.
We did rip the part that attaches to the bus - but now position it do the sliding door has total clearance in the inside - no more rips
We can pack it back into the bag - no issues at all.

  18. We put ours up for the first time in France in a fairly big downpour. The instructions are rubbish, but its actually pretty simple to put up. Our problem was that there was nothing in the bag to attach it to the van ie pole or clamps. We were ok as we didn't have the kids with us but it could have been difficult ( guess who would have been sleeping in the awning?? ) If you don't use it all the time it is ok and despite what was at times quite torrential rain none got in and the groundsheet held out fine.

As for putting it back in the bag, surely you jest? I wrapped the whole thing up in the groundsheet and bungeed it to the roofrack. I had tried folding etc and despite weighing it at the same amount as the average family I could not compress it to a size anywhere near that required to get it in the bag. Fold it yes, but even with my vast bulk pushing down on it it still wouldn't fold.

I paid £150 delivered for it so overall I am happy. We are going to try it out in a couple of weeks with the kids using it so will report back on what they think on it.

  19. You could make an offer for mine in the for sale section ...
