Rear Torsion bushes squeak

  1. Just after a bit of advice.
have checked previous threads but not what i needed answering sadly so here goes.
rear bushes are squeaking and due to work commitments and going away on Monday next week, i dont have time to strip it down fully and replace and talc, so thinking i can pull off the cover and talc the outer bush for now. heres the question. if i jack her up and take the wheel off, can i pull the cover plate and talc the inner bush then refit the cover without undoing or removing anything else. basically what is the least i need to do to get this done given the time restraint

The squeak is because the rubber is moving rather than flexing like it's supposed to. Adding any lubricant (talc) will make it worse.

You could try just replacing just the outer bush’s behind the cover it might help in the short term

are you sure it’s squeaking from there?

Mine squeak after raising the bus. I dont care.

Fitted without lubricant 10 years ago, refitted without lubricant a few months back.
Now one of the covers is rotted through, so when I replace the covers I will fit new donuts too.
