One for the wise out here in TLB.

Who does the best Gearbox Coupling Fork these days? Can you get genuine VW or is it all EMPI parts.

Schofields appear to do Genuine VW ones.

    Ta :D

  4. Worth measuring the diameter of your gearbox shaft before taking the plunge.

The couplers do seem to vary.

Even the EMPI ones are OK.. if you weld the cage to the collar.

That looks lovely! The genuine VW one I fitted wasn't amazing. I only used the bushings out of it and re-used the old cage and pin as this was the quality of the new pin (old one left)!

    CSP for the win.
The new genuine VW ones seem to be much the same quality as the Empi ones these days :(

The CSP ones are a much better engineered part.

that looks cheaply made. Ordinarily I’ve found the recent genuine parts okay, I must have fell lucky I guess.

  12. I think that’s what most folk do.

I hate that odd self-tapping thing. The CSP ones have a cast body and a more sensible screw (although could do with a dob of Loctite).

  13. I bought a genuine German one from JK (of all places) about ten years ago. That was fine. Other (Brazilian?) ones I've seen have been pretty awful.
