God that was close nearly got another ban then:p:p:p

  2. Take it...
They will claw it back one way or another eventually. Then you’ll be paying for cash you never took ..

  3. This thing isn't over yet. If even having to buy additional ppe or not do a job for someone has impacted on you then you're entitled to claim. It's a taxable earning so not free. The scheme was designed to ensure we don't all flog our tools/vehicles to survive and then dot on. Claim the money and survive the winter.

I’m guessing that ‘honesty isn’t always the best policy’, then?

  6. Don't take the money if that's your take on it - it's being taxed so what's the problem ?
The treasury really won't be interested in your dilemma , they have bigger fish to fry .

    Honesty isn't the issue .

  8. everybody has to buy additional PPE ..FFS . If everybody had that attitude the debt would never be repaid .. most self employed were claiming gov help whilst still working ..disgusting

  9. Or the people that were never furloughed like the NHS will be paying it back ...

It was a couple of years ago - having a child at 6th form college , the benefit stopped when it should, but for some of the last years of the benefit, I was earning a little too much..

Get on the dog tomorrow and take what's yours , you've worked your Brazil's off climbing trees and cutting old girls lawns, take the bees and enjoy it, stick it all on my lot to win the league this year:thumbsup:

  12. That's totally wrong - get your facts right before posting such an idiotic sweeping statement.
Being self employed I can claim the Government help and am ALLOWED to work.
It's all about getting the self employed back to grafting and paying tax again .
Suppose you get SSP , pension contributions and paid holidays as well ?
    Disgusting !!

  13. Because of the way we accounted. Do you mean you were fiddling?

  14. It's not intended to be instead of working for self employed. The government wanted us to be working and providing a service albeit with reduced earning capacity. Check the HMRC website for accurate information before calling us out.

Completely legal navigation of the law with fully audited books until that requirement changed. I did use grown up's accountants, not a one man band but they didn't push the boundaries.

I still think I should hold back, to see if I have to/ need to self isolate/quarenteen, again...like I said. Our sept last year, is on par with the same month, this year. So, according to figures, I’m not financially affected by COVID-19. But I was, on the first ‘hand out’, due to my son being asthmatic and suffering from hay fever, and showing ‘covid19’type signs.

  18. And how will you lose over the year - that's the crux of it ??

Up to you but its NOT charity and you'd be silly not to take what's offered ...

@Soggz you're one of those people who when they win the lottery they say, I'm not going to let the money change me then they go back to their job as a lollipop man, and give it all to charity, I'll say it again
TAKE THE MONEY, stick it in your sky:thumbsup:

It wouldn’t change me, tbh. If have everything then that I have now... only difference is, is that I would design it, and have it built, I.e ‘house with lake,etc...
