  1. Welcome to TLB you should get a decent bus for that money ,just dont but the first one you see

  2. Welcome along. Good luck with the search. I would defo take a look @Baysearcher bus. As will point out places of issue on these vehicles.

Get underneath and get them fingers dirty and learn were to look.

With that budget I would think you will get a great bus.

  3. Welcome from West Lancashire - our budget was £10k - it took us 2 years to find one we both liked, so keep in mind what you want and do go looking with rose coloured specs. Expect to see a lot of examples worth £7k but asking for a lot more - we did!

  4. Thanks for the advice, how did you tell the difference between a 7k bus and a 10k bus at the start of your search?

Welcome from cheshire, thats a good budget, look at a few you'll soon get the idea of what is and isn't acceptable for you, especially if you have someone who knows what they're looking at with you.

  6. Welcome and the very best of luck with your search,
the guys on here are a wealth of knowledge if you have any questions pop it up on here

  7. That's the trouble - you don't at first. We decided that we wouldn't buy the first one we saw and looked at around 5 before we knew what we were looking at - as it happened a beautiful one at £12.5k slipped through our fingers - it was above our budget but we looked anyway - very nice but we decided it was too much. Now I realise that it probably would have been worth the money and it sold very quickly. But who knows it may have had hidden faults somewhere - I know ours did and perhaps they all have. At £15k everything should be spot on but you would need a very knowledgeable person to spend an hour or two with it getting it up on ramps, checking all the rust spots, the engine etc.

Have a chat with @Billywizkid, he's got what looks like a nice one for sale and he's only in Gloucester..

  9. Saw that one on gumtree and here, looks very nice, but I have my heart set on a westy, I prefer the layout for the kids. Thanks for the heads up @Baysearcher

  10. I wouldn't just look at Westy's (mine is a Westy btw) or you will severely limit your potential choices. I wasn't looking for any particular model and just happened on a Westy - which I later discovered had a non original DIY interior which we are in the process of ripping out and making our own DIY interior ( at least it will be our own design even if it is amateurish!!). Most vans seem be having modern expensive interiors put in.

  13. Understand what you are saying, what are the devon's like for height when the hood is up compared to the Westies.

I am hoping to get to a show soon, so that I can compare a number of them together.

  14. Are you sure my Devon is cool

  15. Took this photo at Eskdale yesterday - Lord Congi's Devon on left with Carlot25 's T3 Westy on right - they look to have a similar height but I think the Devon has more headroom

Dave's is a Devon Moonraker though, not a "normal" Devon.

  17. The one on left is a Devon moonraker I had one last year good height inside

Looks very nice, I have asked for photos of the underneath, before I make the trip to see it.

  20. Many thanks for the offer, I am sure I can stretch to a fish supper if I venture up north. but will hold off on the gravy.
