I quite like the idea, but can't work out the benefits and disadvantages!
I've often considered doing this. It just appeals to me . Toilet facilities would be the biggest problem, IMO.
There was a bloke I recall who used to live up in the trees in Central Park in New York. He was up there for ages before they realised
The longer you live there, the less living space you have.
Too much shade in the summer.
Too exposed in the winter.
Build a brick house, it worked for one of the three little pigs.
Trees fall over, a definite disadvantage!
You could cut an hole in the floor . Handy as a 'cold caller' deterrent too, if you position it right.
Very thoughtful for scavengers and those seeking fuel...provided the weather is suitable for drying purposes.
A disadvantage to tree living could some nutter assuming you are protesting about something or other and seek to join you...
I want that one...

I'd have nowhere to plug my SAD light in...oh, hang on, I wouldn't need it I think I'll hibernate until April...
Sorry I forgot about the crabs they make a horrible sound in the dark and should you crunch one in annoyance they stink horrendously once the morning sun touches...now the insects that will share your abode...
You would'nt want to be a sleep walker
letting the dog out might be a struggle
