  1. Hello all. I’ve not been on here for a while, but thought i’d post up some pics of my latest project. Bought a couple of years ago, I should have known better

    Oh dear!

Could be 10-15 years ago I was told ANY splitty with the legal ID numbers was worth a minimum £3.5K. Mind you that someone was trying to sell me one. I wouldn't dispute it though I didn't buy it either. Like this one underneath. The top 12" were ok and the Devon furniture was in good order so I was tempted...but I don't regret passing it up!

I'm wondering how far you've got, or are the photos as is?

  13. I’ve nearly finished the welding and overhauled most of the mechanical stuff. I paid 6k, which was too much really, but at the time the cheapest splitty projects were around £8k.

  14. It was/is a Swedish bus, and was covered in thick underseal to protect from their roads and winters. Probably took me a day to chisel it all off. I Started on the chassis to get some strength back in it.

Well look on the bright side ...sometimes it's easier to completely replace body work components rather than repairing them .

  16. Few more pics. New top hat floor supports, I beams were ok. New heater tube, crossmembers, gearshift rod guide tube, heater cable guide tubes and accelerator guide tube. New inner sills, bulkhead lower section and outriggers, and finally, new cargo floor. Mostly Autocraft and Wolfsburg West.
