Pop top

  1. Hi All
My canvas pop top roof has seen better days, it has ripped and needs replacing
Haven't taken it off as don't think it would stretch to go back on studs.
Any ideas where to get a replacement/ cost.
    Cheers

I had mine made by a local sail maker.
He used the old one as a template.
It was cheapy mccheap compared to a "proper" one.

There are many types of poptops and canvases. The answer is dependent on exactly which type you have.

I can't think of any fitted on "studs".

Ah, you meant rag top, not poptop.
    No idea. :)

Ah, if you meant a rag top, I doubt a sail maker would do it.

  6. Id second that

I bought mine from a vw pop top canvas specialist.

It was expensive and not as good as the original.

Sail makers is the way to go for quality and cost

  7. should have read more than the first few posts!

In that case id sack off the sunroof as many people struggle with them leaking.

Stick some opening sliding windows in for more air flow through the bus on a hot day.

You may be able to use the sunroof hole for a pop top?

Then you could stick a fixed non opening sun/moon roof on top of the pop top.

This is what i ended up with as i originally wanted a pop top with an opening sun roof.

Al though mine already was a devon pop top to start

I didn't realise, but puzzled by the mention of studs I blew up his avatar and there it was. :)

  10. Yes mine has press studs, luckily it has never really leaked in surprisingly.
