Do give the impression of being quite a small company who haven't quite caught up with their success.
I used to work for a Cambridge maths boffin who'd invented a Satellite image processor that filled 2 floor standing full height racks. It was all in his head. £200k a pop, he sold them to foreign governments. My task was attempting to document them. He looked like a large foetus and worked from 5pm to 5am when nobody else was there to disturb him. After a few months I got another job.
Just spoke to a distributor for the 123 and they could not tell me which one to purchase for a 2.0l type 4 engine
Just spoke to a distributor for 123 and they didn’t know which one I could purchace for a 2.0l type 4 1978. Not sure if it’s a 009 or a 034?
But it's quite impressive that you can hold a conversation with one of their distributors. Shows they have a very smart electronic brain. The one on my engine never says a word...
The base distributor for a lot of the aftermarket units seems to be available on Alibaba.com for as little as £8 for a VW unit. I would get a reconditioned Bosch or keep buying manky Bosch originals for £5-£10 at swapmeets and assemble a good distributor out of parts of the donors. Then buy it an electronic module for £30. The advance curve for Chinese distributors can be more extreme than stock Bosch, making it even more important to set the max advance at 28 degrees.
I thought he was never going to get his answer...... https://www.123ignitionshop.com/gb/volkswagen/243-123vwrv.html And head over to VWJim.co.uk sales page to get one at a discount before everyone else snaps them up... Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
