Pentronix flamethrower 1 coil compatibility

Hi , can everyone confirm if I can use a Pentronix flamethrower 1 coil with a standard 009 dizzy with points. ?

yes and you should be using a vacuum dizzy.

 

A good Bosch not cheap or build your own out of a couple of swapmeet wrecks for £50. Just find one that holds vacuum on the capsule and the rotor does not slop back and forward when you twist it against the drive dog at the bottom, but springs on the centrifugal advance mechanism. ( I use a distributor I built out of two or three I collected)

Or a new Alibaba.cn SVDA distributor for about £40-£50 (ex China about £10 in quantity). E.g.MegaBug.

And add an Accuspark or Pertronix module another £40 or £80.

Or use a 123 for quality and performance.
