Don’t suppose there’s an engine ready to go in?

  11. Nope

  12. My import door arrived today
It’s nice and solid in all the right places

The sealer holding the skin to the ribs has dried out and shrunk and there’s a dusting of surface corrosion on the inside of the skin
So I’ll have to clean that up and try to get some paint in there and bond the skin back to the ribs before I tackle the outside prep
The inside will also get plenty of cavity wax once the whole door is painted
Anything to try and slow future corrosion down.

  13. You'd get a feature in Hayburner with patina like that :)

  15. I’ve started scraping 40 odd years worth of sand out of the nooks and crannies
Considering I shook loads out yesterday it’s impressive how much is still hiding in there.

It'll be a bit lighter now you've scraped all the beach out of it!
Make a small sand castle to celebrate :)
