Hi Guys, Has anyone on here fabricated replacement rear side panel tops (from waist line up). I have a panel van camper conversion. The roof and tops of the side panels have had it. We want to re-install the panels to the rear but keep the windows to the slider and opposite pane. See you can buy the complete rear side panels but I really only need the tops. I have a few ideas myself but would be interested o hear from anyone else who has don his.
Judging by the pile of lower front panels AH Schofield had at the Last Ever Dubfreeze, if you pay them enough money they will get out the sheet metal cutter and make you the panel section you desire. Probably costs almost the same as the entire panel... For the front panels, they sliced off at the level of the air box, taking the top of the air box surround and the lower screen area and sold that to somebody. Then sold the remainder of the panel including the headlamp bowls for a bargain £20 each. There were about five panels in the stack.
Indeed - the only saving is on the postage (so they told me). In the case of a side panel I'd want it all even it I only used the window and the bottom bit.
