We recently purchased our first campervan (August last year) after lots of saving up and generous contributions from family and friends towards our campervan fund as our wedding gift last year . If im totally honest I had set my sights on a splitscreen but having 2 young children we decided on the more practical bay and I dont regret it one bit. Some of you may know the van, it featured in Camper and Bus a few years ago with the previous owner who is a prominent member of VZI not sure about on here? It won a SSVC /Prosign award at an ACE cafe meet at the time. Its a 1972/73 Devon bay window fully restored (bare metal) by the previous owner who then fitted a VW Paradise 2110 engine, with Steve Timms ported and polished heads and match ported manifold to it for extra grunt. It has a modern take on the original interior (considering putting the cooker back in) We have travelled around Cornwall after trecking down to Brighton to pick it up (A story in itself- Impulsive buyer that I am, not a good example of taking your time with choosing a van) then had a few days in North Yorkshire (Whitby and Robin Hood Bay). Fair weather campers so cant wait to get it out in a few weeks when the weather improves. We are based in Gtr Manchester so would like tips on sites within a couple of hours or so. Ive a couple of jobs to do before the upcoming season: Replace braided fuel hoses plus breather pipes where I can (without taking out engine) - We can smell fuel when we sleep near the tank area, Im sure this is normal considering ? Thinking about a fuel cutoff after reading some horror stories Replacing the Mondo Phat exhaust (anyone interested?) with a CSP python (hidden away) which I recently purchased. Theres a couple of rust spots here and there so thats a must this year before it gets any worse, Ive been in touch with a local company Street style body shop in Bolton who have a good history with working on classic vehicles. Im sure I will be mithering you all to death over the next few months, Im a complete noob when it comes to the campervan but have admired them for years. I'm sure I'll become an expert over time lol.
Welcome ,I'm from Sale and theres plenty of great places near us ,North Wales ,Lake district ,plenty of meets as well

Thanks guys for your warm welcome, Lord Congi may cross paths then sometime in the future at a meet or two. Thanks Buddy Hawks one of my friend dug the magazine out for me to keep. Nice little memento
welcome, That's is a fine example of a bus, love the colour contrast. Lovely place whitby too, not far from me
One of the nicest looking new members' bus I've seen in a long time, so welcome onboard... looking forward to seeing more photos and hearing about your adventures.
Cheers,we love it too, can't take credit for the work though that goes to bug an off VZI but I'm sure we'll put our mark on it over time. It's not quite as shines as that at the moment though. Got a few things to fit including an easy cool I bought off ebay a few months ago. Hopefully going away for a few days around Easter tempted with Southern Scotland as we've never been.
