  4. Ok. So just had a little read up about the cam. A lot of went straight over my head but sounds good.
My question is, when I buy anything to go in this engine like lifters and pushrods etc. do they need to be a certain spec to match the cam, or are stock parts ok?

  5. I don't know what cam you have dude, holmsen was asking what cam it was in my ref. pic :)

If you have a look at the end where the oil pump slot is, there should be some numbers there... likely as not, it's a new stock cam... might be wrong tho!!

Stock pushrods are fine  Plus if you're staying with the hydraulic lifters, you'll need to use the steel pushrods

  6. Doh. Lol. I did wonder how you could tell just from a picture. :D

  15. I did get the mouse sander on it just to see.
I am the sort that would mirror polish it but its just too rough. Going to get it blasted and powder coated now. I like the silver Paul sprays his but I want to do something a bit different. I don't know what that is yet though. :)

  16. That cracked me right up lol

  17. Been thinking about when I finally get round to putting this back together and realised that I've got the lifters mixed up. :) so which is my best option?
    1. New cam and lifters (obviously the best option, but lots more money)
    2. New lifters on old cam (hardly any wear on the cam)
    3. Old lifters in wrong order on old cam.

Am I asking for lots of trouble if I go for option 2 or 3?

  18. ^^ Any thoughts, anyone?

  19. Zed

    Zed Gradually getting grumpier

I'm no expert, but I'd say put it back with followers in any order will be fine. They were both run in together which surface hardens them. I believe new followers would get chewed up by the hardened cam.
