old newbe

  2. anyway back to the build up thread
     
  3. had another trip at weekend malten beer and food festival
    great fun and hangovers had by both of us and the campsite was ok
     
  4. not had much time to spend with ben (bus)
    in fact its out of mot now and needs the tappets setting but im way too busy at mo !
    but after pestering my mum for ages and finally finishing her kitchen and doors ect shes avin a go at the seats whoop whoop!

    we used the original seat foam and choped it up abit and made the cushins from some throws we bourght
    kinda works

  5. they were good for last year but im wanting something a bit more classy now lol!
    so heres the start of the front drivers seat just making the covers up at the mo and trial fitting trial and error a plenty
    never done this before but mother can sow so here we go!

    thinking about sorting the wadding underneath before the final fit

    anyone got any ideas for foam padding ect...

    its a relief that someones doing work on the van other than me ;D

  7. well been up at mi mums and manage to get one seat sorted
    huge improvement and not bad for a first attempt

    repadded the seats with foam was a real pain to get a good fit but hats off to my mum for the cutting and stitching :)

  9. and then rushed home in the nicely polished gti to get them in the van
    oh yeah spent 3hr flatting and buffing the gti all by hand heres a pic for those who care!

    Nice work on the Golf, (and the bus) looks very tidy.

    been offered 1800 for it but i reckon its worth a bit more ::)
     
  13. been up to the parents house again tonite after work
    re welded the brocken springs on the drivers seat and the back support
    and then we got struck in repadding and covering the seat with its new home made covers ^-^
    to be honest ive seen worse pro jobs im very happy indeed

  14. when i get time im going to strip the van of all trim and glass and have a good week flatting back the paint work and repainting as it was a bit of a rush job last year, but its finding the time its show season and the suns shining so i may just leave it till back end of summer
    or winter if i can find a unit !
     
  15. Seats look great, Golf's not bad either ;D need to get a macine polisher though sooooooo much easier ;)

  18. next thing to do is recover the rear bench and home made buddy seat #
    and then the side panels 8)
    oh and then fit some lap belts in the back

    got both front seats done and fitted
    look great
    and now have a fuel guage replaced the sender repaired the wiring and fitted a fuel guage stabilizer now i have no excuse for running out
    great!
