old newbe

  1. bak home after a good week cruising the west coast loovved it all

    back home and more work started
    dash out and repairs to window surround

    not in too bad condition

  2. did things a bit backward but i wanted to use it in the summer of 2011
    so had loads a fun along the way

    cut a bit out of the window surround
    and made a piece

  3. cleaned and painted the dash in 2k pastel white

    and finished the rims

    luved these babies

  4. put it all back together and painted the vents white :-[
    then black ::) :))

    got the dash back together

    then it was time for camper jam really liked this show

    some knob head !

    and back home to pick a colour found these for inspiration

    took me a full year to settle on the colour

  7. anyway loads more sanding filling and priming and i managed to get some mellow yellow on the main body ^-^although not the finished artical it will do for 2012 season got a big tour planned!

    and started on the interior

    been a joiner i thourght this would be easy

    but lack of funds and time didnt help me get the finish i was after

    anyway it was show season so fook it i thourght

  14. Glad you re-posted this, as you've said on Rusty's resto thread, they are almost identical vans ;D

    Its actually your original thread that switched me onto TLB :eek:, I was trawling looking for resto's similar to mine when i first got the van and came across your thread. It was so similar (down to rusty arches etc) that seeing the progress you had made sorta convinced me I hadn't been totally mad buying a bucket of rust to restore ;D

    Love the Mk1 BTW, doing anything special engine wise?

  16. engines now in and got 150miles under its belt
    tweeking the carbs as i runs it
    seems to have loads of power
    will ad more pics when i can get cam going
    ended up in north yorkshire moors near grassinton
    love it
    soothed the pain of the cost of engine rebuild a bit
    main jobs to sort for mot are the horn and small bit of welding to rear torsion tubes
    and a pas side door rubber to fit
    oh yeah and the interior to finish
    never ending ???
    but we luv it >:D
     
  17. been busy today checking things over for mot
    fixed the horn
    part changed the gear selecter not as sloppy now
    fitted a duel relay and second battery
    wire 10 inch sub upto a amp
    mega bass now (my be getting to old for it but just luv dub step since rtts last year )
    few other jobs
    oh yeah drank loads of mexican beer

  19. must take some pics of the interior i made it last year in a rush
    so this year i will be getting the front seats and rear bench recovered and finishing of the rest of the interior
