Oil dip stick conundrum

  1. I have put a T25 CU 2L into my bay. When changing over the tinware and exterior items as required, I ended up with a bay dipstick fitted as well as the original from the T25.

Now the T25 one shows oil level at the minimum notch, the bay one shows as on the max marking. Which one would you be going with??

  2. I'd think the T25 one is telling you the truth.

How can you have two dipsticks?

T 25 dipstick ...find out what amount of oil should go in a 2 ltr T25 , drain it and put the said amount in then you will tell from the dip stick .Are they the same length starting from the circular pull out bit ?

  4. When changing to the bay tinware you need to use the bay oil filler tube which the bay dipstick is on. The T25 dipstick goes through the top of the engine case.

  5. I'd believe the T25 one, if it goes straight into the case with no mods.

  7. I suspect the accuracy of the T2 dipstick depends on how the tube has been installed. I think mine has slightly more clearance than on some other engines. It makes it easier to get the dipstick rubber boot on but if I measure 3.5 litres of oil in (including filter), it comes midway between the two lines on the dipstick.
