What does your air filter bracket look like? Round or straight?

 

I have a spare oil bath filter

That looks the same as mine which is also a '75 but has the later airbox with a paper filter .

I believe 1974 was the changeover year from oil bath to paper element.

 

Okay so would standard paper 1 be better than pancake filter that's on there ?

Paper element air filters were fitted from 1975 model year onwards, so from Aug 74

Would be noticeable diffrence as be driving it 2 years and seems okay . Just doing full resto so just looking do everything now

You will have preheated air so less chance of manifold icing also your breathers will be connected up properly

 

That’s the bracket for the later plastic airbox and paper filter. Don’t understand how you’ve got an oil bath filter on there at the moment. Or have you?

 

No I got pancake filter on at moment just assumed was oil bath meant be there . Bit good old forum always helps .

If you’re going back to original, you’ll need to find the large plastic airbox and fittings that sit on that bracket. They are around.
