FOR SALE OEM vw Heritage 17" wheels - now for sale by grandmst :)

Discussion in 'Late Bay Parts Classifieds' started by rob.e, Jan 7, 2022.

  1. Set of 4 genuine OEM new Beetle Heritage / Orbit wheels including hub caps. These were fitted original to 2012-2019 Beetle to make it look "retro" and are a great wheel for a bay as it has the correct 5x112 pcd. Although they look like steels they are actually an alloy wheel. These are very high quality made by RONAL.

Front tyres are 195/45 85 XL Falken Ziex.
Rear tyres are 205/50 93 XL Falken Ziex.

The tyres have done circa 2000 miles trundling around at bay speeds so they are pretty much as new showing zero wear. The tyres are appropriately load rated for the weight of a westfalia bay.

The wheels are painted a custom colour that closely matches the steel wheels originally fitted to a late bay. The centre bore of the wheels has been opened to clear the grease covers on the front *.

The hub caps are shiny chrome but are currently covered in a coating of matt black plasti-dip. Would take seconds to pull the plasti-dip off if you wanted to go back to chrome. The plasti-dip looks good IMO and also protects the chrome underneath.

Also included is a set of two 20mm spacers for the rear wheels. These are custom to fit the late bay hub and locate correctly into the bore of the heritage wheel. You need these to get the offset correct for the rear.

I will also include a set of 20 correct wheel nuts (lug nuts). These need to be small ball radius open end lug nuts - regular bay nuts won't fit as they are too big. These are super-hard to locate and i ended up importing this set from USA.

    Spec: 7J x 17 ET43

Pricing: I believe these are about 250 per wheel new from vw or you could search out a used set - they come up on ebay occasionally but they are pretty rare to see. When they do appear they are usually 600-700 for a set. In order to get those on your bay you'd need to buy 4 tyres that would work on the bay (tyres they used on the beetle won't work on a bay) so budget around 100 per tyre. You'd also need to get the centres bored (~£100), spacers for the rear (~£100) and a set of appropriate lug nuts (~£50) so in round numbers you'd be looking at 1200-1300 quid.

I'm asking £850 for my set which i think is a bargain and doesn't cover what they owe me. OPEN TO NEAR OFFERS.

I'm in oxford. These are balanced and ready to fit but bear in mind you might need longer studs. I'm only selling as i have another set of wheels i want to run. Still love these so if they don't sell i'll be happy to keep them.

If you want to do some googling the part numbers you need are:
    17" Wheel Black: 5C0-601-025-M-AX1
    17" Wheel White: 5C0-601-025-G-Y9C
    Chrome Center: 5C0-601-149-D-QZQ

    * Centre bore on a stock heritage wheel (or any recent VAG group wheel) would be 56.6. These are opened up to 66.6mm to clear the bay hub.

I'll take some better pics at the weekend once i've cleaned them up but here's a few to get started:

  16. Well then.

Things change, due to buying a T5 I don't see these wheels going on my bus anytime in the next two years.

So if anyone on the forum is interested I would happily sell them on but then again they are not doing no harm sat in the shed either.

just seems a waste if someone else would utilise these before I ever get round to it

As the thread title says "SOLD", you might not have much luck. @rob.e can change it.
