  1. Ive just checked my online banking before heading out this afternoon to buy my food and booze for viking volksfest at the weekend.

Ive breakdown cover with the AA and they have decided to take £150 out of my bank for my renewal
Not only have i had no reminder to tell me this was going to happen its way above the cost of what a new member would pay

So i phone the AA and tell them of my displeasure
They put me through to three different departments before i manage to get them to drop the price and refund me the difference

They tell me there refunding the difference but it will take 28 days to clear in my bank

Argggggggggggggh that leaves me short of the money i need to camp at the show for the weekend and buy my food and booze

So i think to myself im not going to let it stress me out ill just visit on the saturday with my family and be happy with that

So i go to the vikingvolksfest website to check the day ticket prices for saturday

Arrgggggh again theres no day tickets for saturday you have to pay for sat and sunday including camping

Seems like all i can do is buy a day ticket for sunday

    IM NOT A HAPPY BUNNY

  2. put this into writing and send it to their customer support team - i had issues with them and ended up getting 1 year free cover from them to say sorry.

Think yourself lucky. Someone bought a flight to Bahrain using my account last week.

They do this every year - its a con .

same as utilty companys charge a lot more for monthly debits than you use - money in their bank .

same as bank charges are supposed to be lower but i hear they are being creative with people who are going over drawn without permission .

we are being conned all round !.

  12. There's a lot of companies out there doing this. And they really annoy me. There's loads of 'em who give you no warning or reminder, nor who make it clear (they probably do but it's in the small print) that they'll take it out annually. Perhaps they should have the damn courtesy to write to us folk reminding us that they're about to take our cash. Of course, they don't do this because they count on as many former customers as possible who simply forget to cancel any future payments, don't realise they need to do this, or don't check their bank statements as well as perhaps they should, so it's missed and the company gets to keep their cash.

Yep - you get penalised if you dont use direct debit - then they stiff you with Admin.

Think about it - even if you catch them and they refund say £50 after 28 days - say they do that to 10,000 customers each month - interest on £500k is how much?

    The banks win.
    The company in question wins.
    The revenue win.

None of these are accidents in my view - its a deliberate and concerted effort to fleece the rest of us.

Easiest way to rain on the parade is insist on paying cash - someone somewhere will take one of these penalising companies to court over not being able to pay using and age old method - cash , and the monopoly will break.
