Newbie to the site and air-cooled VW's

    Hi All,

    Thanks for all the welcome messages, hope to meet some of you once we are allowed out to play again! I think I have found the problem, the ignition switch barrel (the plastic bit) was fractured allowing the key to "wobble" and shut off the supply to the coil! Not pleasant when you've just pulled onto the M50 off the M5! Anyway,will reassemble and see if I've cured it. Thanks again for all the suggestions.

    I will post some pictures once I have worked out what format they need to be to upload to this site.

    One of my best memories is driving in to Cornwall from Newcastle with Mr Blue Sky blasting and all the family singing there heads off
