New van on gumtree

Hi all,

Also, this van is in Carshalton, Glasgow. I'm in Leeds... Is there anybody up there who could look at this van for me? Recompense can be arranged

Looks like a bargain if it's legit. Almost too much of a bargain.

quite a few scams come from up that area, so be careful. not saying that this is one.

 

I've asked for more photos. DVLA checks out, but owner doesn't know when it was imported. He also says it hasn't always been garaged. Slightly concerned about how much it may have been washed by the Glasgow rain :/ However the price gives me some fixit room...

 

Have you got a phone number from the seller? looks like a scam ad to me, he's probably out of the country at the moment, but can take your money and have the bus delivered to you?

 

In fact DVLA says registered 2006 so import must be then.

I'm in work at the moment and gumtree'a blocked ,have you right clicked the photo's and selected properties to to see if they are nicked from anywhere else?

 

Right... Learning something new all the time Need to see more pix. Will have to see it in the flesh I think. He's posted more pix but just of bits. Has emailed me to say it's in a mate's garage so scam radar out. Proceeding with caution, no money goes anywhere until I've seen it and its papers, chassis numbers etc etc

 

Simplest way is just to ask when its possible to see it, Make up a friend whos in the same town, if he gives you an address and a phone no. its more likely to be legit, this is the point when they usually go for "send money i'll deliver it"

Have seen similar ads and the owner worked on the oil rigs so the deal was to pay via pay pal who would hold payment until I was happy with vehicle which would be delivered free to my home address , if I wasn't happy that vehicle was as described pay pal would refund me the payment and vendor would collect vehicle at his expense, he even told me he worked on the Gorilla platform and wasn't phased when I said I had relatives working on there who might know him. Still a scam but he had a lot of front.
Not saying this ad is a scam but as the saying goes let the buyer beware
If it is genuine it seems reasonable so worth a look

 

whs - make up a friend who lives within 10 miles of glasgow - this will flush the seller out as legit or not.

 

better still one of us should email him and ask where the photo was taken as it looks suspiciously like my van !!!!!

 

Its a scam ,look at the condition ,nice cross over westy ,nice wheels ,£6.5 K ,VW owners know what their vans are worth.
