New rebuilt engine issue suspect cam timing

    ..also wondering if you could get one of those vacuum gauges and plug it in to check the manifold vacuum?..it might tell you few things as well..

    ..one more thing just got me thinking..did you check the fuel pressure?(with the gauge) and more importly is it stable?..its erratic unstable on mine and wondering if that could cause shaking at idle?

  6. I have done a conversation to an electric low pressure pump as one of the modifications to try & cure the problem idle. So shouldn’t be an issue.
    I think i am getting to the stage where i take the engine back out. I’ve wasted so much time trying to rectify a problem which I didn’t have with the previous engine.
     
  7. Quick update. Engine been back out. Fitted a standard cam & followers. Run up this afternoon to bed cam in 20mins @ 2500rpm.
    Feels & sounds a lot smoother. Idles nicely although not had time to balance carbs yet.

    I had got the cam timing correct when I split the case to check. Also cam had C25 stamped on the end.
    I can only put it down to a miss match with the C25 cam & 34ICT twin carbs.

    Will update when i have run through the valve clearances & given it a road test.

  10. So Type 4 Scat C25 Camshaft and Scat lube a lobe followers up for sale. Just bedded in.
    Will take 1/2 of what they cost me, plus postage. I will pop them in the classified forum.
    Also Scat HD single valve springs, caps & collets avaliable.
