I am looking forward to this. Now that distance has been put between the old and the new... https://www.topgear.com/car-news/top-gear-series-25/top-gear-series-25-ultimate-preview
Never watched the previous re-incarnation to be honest . I think Mr Evans had the right idea by jumping ship I`m no fan of Clarkson & co and their contrived stunts were bordering on the ridiculous but somehow their oafishness and general cavalier attitude just worked . A hard act to follow
The biggest problem for the last series was that Chris Evans wasn’t allowed to be Chris Evans. It seemed like they just gave him a script written for clarkson and told him to get on with it. He’s got a proven track record of making quality original programmes. Don’t forget your toothbrush, tfi Friday, his radio show etc. There wasn’t anything original in that first new series and that’s why it fell so flat. I hope they have learnt their lessons and this time let the personalities of the new presenters come to the fore.
Just got around to watching the last episode of the Grand Tour......it's like Last of the Summer wine with cars......and to be honest I preferred the Herald in Last of the Summer wine!
I've watched a couple of the new format ones and had to turn them off less than half way through. Then I got Prime and watched both series 1 & 2 of the GT and must admit, it has retained the old buffoon charm, which is why I watched it in the first place.
Chris Evans has always been a bit of a pointless character to put it mildly or... I like ginger cats even though their ego is almost as big as Chris Evans'. That first dreadful awkward series of new Top Gear pointed this out.. Lets hope the new team get on track. We felt that the previous episode of Grand Tour with the amphibious cars was definitely Last of the Summer Wine material. But this season has been better than the first.
Just caught up on 'catch up'... It was OK. That said, hoping for a little more in coming weeks. Going to stick with it though.
You see McLaren’s everyday being road tested as we only live 5miles away , very impressive car Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
