Welcome glad you have joined us lot!
Will help as much as possible.
    Doesn't look like a walk through .
    Good luck with the restoration.

Looks very much non walkthrough, think twin slider with walkthrough is pretty rare!

  4. They almost exclusively do classic car shells so i'm not too worried. Also going to bodyshop the next day for rust primer (not sure what the correct primer term is!) then a likely weldathon.

Not sure, would dormobile have a record of conversions going back over the years? I have the V5 etc with the original plates.

  5. By walkthrough does that mean from the front seats to the back living space? If so then no as it has a solid bulkhead behind the seats. Is this something that can be cut out or does this cause structural issues?

No leave that , it's part of the strengthening as it's a twin slider . The strength is slightly lost because both open .

I would think that opening both sliders at the same time with the bulkhead removed might be " interesting ".

  10. Hello and welcome

  11. Sliding doors offer no extra strength !! Open or shut....they were a van designed to carry half a ton so bulk head or not should be fine

Wouldn't have thought it's any worse than cutting the seat backs off for swivel bases, sliding door shut panels are probably stiffer than normal strengtheners anyway.

  13. Has the strengthening brace bar been removed from the centre of the roof when the pop top was fitted?

Its probably not being shot-blasted then. More likely a much less abrasive media.

I wouldn' t cut the bulkhead out for the shear fact that my spare wheel and god knows what is stashed under that middle seat far outweighs any benefit from having a walkthrough

Hello and welcome from the dark and damp New Forest!
Are you planning full width bed or 3/4? With a full width, if you want anything much in the way of a camping interior, I imagine it will have to go across the back of the bulkhead?
    Good luck with the project

Swivel seat though makes huge difference to the space, but being a twin slider you'd loose any possibility of having a kitchen unit.

I've got a sink and hob in mine...the only thing I'm struggling with is a fridge ...not much in the way of suitable room with a vent if I go 3 way ..

**edit , I think I see what you're saying dunc..no option for a unit across the back of the bulkhead..
