  2. I soooooo want to do this. Have you got any more details on how you did it? Is it usable by an adult.? Looks good in the pic, I have the same roof.

  3. yes I have more pics to put on I tried this am but the files were to big,I'm going to have another go,I have 2 teenage girls they sleep up there,I have been up there as well on my own, more than comfortable in my opinion.

  4. Just about to launch the tablet, can't put pics on,no help from the kids.
I used 18 MM. ply wood boards 5 boards in total, the whole length of the pop top .
2 25 MM angle iron along the length of the pop top and the boards sit on the rails,.
I can lower the roof down with the boards in place if travelling to a campsite so they do not take any space up,the angle iron was from bnq very thin and not to heavy,I got a memory foam topper from pound stretcher £16 that fits on the boards and my wife has covered the underneath with material to make a nice roof ,rather than looking at plain wood, when we are not camping I leave the roof boards indoors.

  5. how much height you got, fitted ours this weekend it hooks onto poptop sides with 18mm mdf covered in foam. just unhook all of it when not needed. Only downside our roof set up only gives 500mm gap. Will take pics tomorrow but only big enough for one. Plus side is don't carry excess weight for most trips,

  6. I'm 6 ft 2 and 13 stone so I had to test it out before anyone would go up there, not a lot of room but it's good for the kids

  10. Wow that's the best I've seen. I presume you've left a gap each end to reach up and pull the roof down. Any more detail pics appreciated. Nice job

  11. There is no gap (about an inch just to get my fingers to put the last board down.)I slide all the boards in apart from the last 2 the kids get in I pass 1 board up then when they are ready the last board is about 20 cm wide so it just seals up the roof.when I bring the roof down I slide the boards so I can get my hands on the handle on the right pull that end down then do the same the other side slide the boards so they are on the rails then clip the pop top down, jobs a good un.
The board at the back is wider I store all the boards and bedding on there when the roof is up when not in sleeping mode

  12. Sorry about my grammar .lol just read my post.

  15. Your roof has an unusual finish with the timber pieces going across and handles. My roof is starting to sag in the middle so I'm planning to install an aluminum bar that's bent to reshape it. Currently it's insulated which is glued to the roof (original) and then the vinyl board finish is screwed to it each end to a timber batten which was originally glassed in to the roof. It then hand hand straps fitting to the hinges.

    How long is your bed?
I ask this cos I have 5 x 1 ft 20mm lightweight ply boards edged with aluminium and laminated in duck egg blue that would do that job in me garage
