Neighbour issues

I have a friend who works for the old bill and they told me that it was an anonymous call.

The DVLA guys had come round and put a sticker on the window, see previous posts.

I reckon if I tell them that I called the local council and checked if the car park was an unadopted highway, which I did, they told me it was so highway laws don't apply. Also explain that it was there for a day or two whilst I cleaned out my garage.

Oh and they have no hope of me paying that charge as in on benefits and the only way they will get it is in instalments.

 

Are you a member of a vw club could you hold a meet at you house bbq or something.

Have you found out for sure who it is.

have you got an old digi camera stick it in the window with a big note saying if you can read this i have already taken your picture and will be seeing you later

it worked for me when my bus was threatened i got a sniveling apology from the scroat

I'm loving it until the penultimate paragraph where you sound like you're grasping at straws. Cut that out and you sound well educated and in control. 8) It's not cool to mention money - it's the principle that's the moot point.

I was just trying to sound like I got more than a D in English GCSE. I'll remove 'whilst' and replace with 'as'.

You know they will still demand immediate payment, whilst jeering "thems the rules!"

 

Yeah dont tell them you wouldnt be able to pay or they might think thats the only reason and investigate further ,where I think the'd just drop it otherwise.

Yeh i agree ,iwould also try and re word the it is not acceptable bit they might not like being told that?? Good luck ,they should be able to see you have tried to find out the law before you did it and have been ill informed :

I'd send it recorded so at least you know they have it.

 

I got nicked for no tax for 3 months once and got off when I wrote them a nice letter - well worth a go.

Well lets be honest, we are talking squeezing money out of the public. If it was the Swindon lot it would be months before they even sent me a letter.

 

A little update, still waiting on a decision from DVLA over the car tax thing.

Old bill turned up again tonight, somebody (guess who) has complained about where I have parked my bus again. Needless to say the police were cool about it and stated they had no power to get me park elsewhere.

I've parked the bus in the same place since the last fiasco, take it out on day trips and park it back in the same place.



They must be getting proper pee'd off. I feel sorry for the police, what a waste of time and resources.
