Probably people turning on their new bargain Nokia and Polaroid TV's for the first time....

 

Sounds kinda like a Doodle Bug, but the timings out a bit. Like para says similar to heavy rifle/ light artillary. The irregularity of the sound may be due to local geography, echos from different hills/slopes, for instance, meaning that they reach the recording point irregularly (new word there) But that is all wild speculation.... which is fun.

 

According to the inter-google rumour mill, it may have been a squadron of Typhoons shooting at Russian Bear bombers.

 

Every weekend in luton is normal to hear explosions, we called it terrists training.

 

Is there any fracking testing going on.
