We never heard a thing in York, mind you The Golden Fleece had music on..we had heard about the A1 being closed though but it didn't affect us!

  5. When they were practicing for the event of a terrorist attack at the Olympics, fighter piolt decided to put the pedal to the metal and put the willies up Yorkshire and the North East with resultant sonic boom. Could be similar.

  6. Very odd bangs around here for several nights recently. Thought it was fireworks. Turned out to be the dairy farm over the road shooting the male calves after they were born as they have NO economic value.
Enjoy the milk on your cornflakes folks:(

Funny as it may seem, there is a group of people trying to get one of the Concorde past airworthiness & into flight..don't know how they are getting on or who they are

What evers going down, the bangs have been heard as far away as Belgium, thinking logically, the time sequence kind of fits in with aircraft on test flights - flying north to south and vise versa, no one would have seen them as it was dark but the sonic booms gave them away!

  18. Quite clearly it's the flash breaking the sound barrier!! ;)
