guess its time for pattern making and shaping of steel will be worth it in the end
good look with it just think when its finished you will be full of pride every time you open that garage O0 ^-^

  3. Thanks bud :p she could be a lot worse I feel like I am on the homeward straight now, N/S and back are finished. Hoping to get some paint on her by christmas! :))

  6. Actually as we speak not a lot as in Newquay for few days but once we get back carry on removing rust from O/S!

  7. went to scarbrough today to the breeze was good
but my vans not up to scratch
need to sort the interior and a few more grems
but heh! it took 6 months to build and get on the road and weve had some good times in it ;D
trying to just do bits at a time now
    got the front seats in
    now its time for backs
funny i like doing the body work more than the joinery

  8. I got to be honest I dont how to do the interior but not really worrying to much until I have got her through the mot! Then I can start to design inside. Gonna have full width bed as we only intend weekends and I want three seatbelts on bench seat!

    when you off to france?

  11. its been a while since I've dropped in opn your resto.......dont know where the time has gone!

    looks like you've been busy!!

great work, keep going. You'll be finished before me at that rate ;D

  12. Hey man how you doing :)
I havent been on here for a while so havent looked at yours, is it painted yet? I am just not getting chance to work on the old girl  To many other things going on. Hopefully get back into it in September!

I have started to rebuild the driver side and have welded top hats, chassis legs and jacking points on along with inner sill, still have to replace inner and outer B pillar floor panels and repair side panel then finally replace outer sill rear sill and repair rear wheel tub. Then I can start on front wheel arch!! So no I dont think I will be finished before you lol :'(

I am hoping to get to spray booth by feb next year but time wil tell.

  13. I'm doing good thanks :)

I've been on here but not had time to really sit down and keep up with the resto section updates, been busy with the house extension etc. etc. etc.

good to hear the progress and your doing well  ...........these things always take longer thank you think!

........mines still not in paint :( ......few little bits done here and there and I'll have to updat my thread soon. I've been solid working on it for 2 1/2 years  ........but hardly got anything done in the last 2 months :(

I'm hoping they will take it into the paint shop to finish it off very soon ^-^

dont give up on getting yours painted for feb it's not an un realistic target

  14. So I had a bit of an epic task on the offside front corner cos by the time I had cut all the rust away there was nothing left!
So I decided to use the new chassis leg as my ref point as the main chassis running fore to aft was rust free!
Once I got that in place I also put the replacement top hat section in and mated up the inner sill and inner B pillar!

  15. Once I got all that fitting somewhere near I checked to make sure the new front wheel arch and step would fit ok and the door then started to weld!

Meanwhile the back end of the offside in the front of the wheel arch and on the main chassis along with the rear sill and inner wheel arch where all a bit knackered!
So I ripped all that our along with the bottom of the C pillar and either used panels or fabricated pieces and rebuilt the back end!

I then returned to the front and cut more of the side panel out cos I didn't like it! Once I ground all the filler back it had been dinged and rust was in the metal!
I then attached the inner B pillar and welded all the floor and inner bulkhead up!
The set about fabricating a piece to fill the bloody great hole in the side of my van and an extension for the outer B pillar replacement panel as it was too short!
Oh yeah I popped the outer sill on first before I fitted the side piece!
Then once the panel was in it was time to complete the B pillar and bulkhead then start fitting the front wheel arch!

The bottom of the A pillar, the floor and under the accelerator where not so good! So I rebuilt those.
Then popped the front wheel arch and step on and that is where I am now! Just popping over to the van to finish the floor off and seal it all before I start on the offside windows that are very rusty! Ta ta
