They are indeed - nice work cat.

  4. Thanks very much zed!

  5. Good work, I had loads of trouble with a sliding door repair a while back, it was all my fault and genearally down to where the outer repair panel lips round the inner repair panel it tends to try and straighten itself at the lower curve as you fold it round, plenty of banging and a little filler later it all lined up, but a horrible job to do.

Keep up the good work

  6. Thanks dude I am really starting to believe now! Still got roof o/s and front to do but I reckon I have done at least half of her in a year! Hopefully off to the paint shop by Christmas!!

  7. good work there, well done! :) re. sliding doors, I always, repair the inner section on the van, or at least tack it in place. that way you can get the curve of the inner bit correct which is ultimately what determines the postion of the outer skin.
good work on the pillars and bumper mount captive nut bits.

  8. Thanks dude
Re sliding door I replaced bottom of door inner and outer skins! There was just enough of the original to make a jig before I cut it off! This helped a lot but even do I found when I put the door on the bottom was still proud by about 5 mm

After discussing it with zed I strategically placed some wood under the door then jumped on it! I couldn't get it quite right do filled out to it when I put the rear sill on! They are pesky little things!

    That's it, blame me!

They are a pain indeed - you don't see many perfectly mended ones

  10. One things for sure if I hadnt talked to Zed first mine would have been 50 mm out not 5 lol

  11. looks like your be a busy man ;D....cant wait to see it all done, great work :)

  12. Thanks dude really enjoying doing it to!!

  14. To think I was stupid enough and naive enough to think the drivers side wasn't to bad........

    Piccies to follow........[IMG]

Side panel is pretty messed up as well at the front along with the B pillar but haven't took photos yet! Oh well even so gotta be easier than sliding door side cos no middle sill!

Still need to replace inner and outer sill rear sill, closing panel on front of wheel arch front end of side panel, B pillar and front wheel arch with step complete inner and outer!

  15. Oh and just a little matter of both chassis legs top hats and jacking points!

I feel your pain. You might find it easier and best in the long run to get a repair piece and replace a big strip to encompass all the holes. To cheer you up this was like/worse than yours. All sills and outriggers replaced + top had repairs. Anything grey amd outlined in seam sealer is a repair piece...

Better access to the sills and outriggers with a chunk of floor out too...

  17. Yeah I agree. To be honest I am not down at all. At least I know a little about what I am doing. Now cos of doing the other side. Also I haven't got all the faf of the sliding door mechanism!

I am also very lucky cos I have a mate who will finish the filling and then respray. So all I have to do is cut the rust out and replace!

I have ordered full front step genuine replacemt inner sill outer sill chassis legs x 2 jacking points x2 top hat length. Closing panel at front of wheel arch tub rear sill and inner B pillar repair! The rest I can fabricate inc floor which I will do last cos as you say access to top hats and inner sill!

It was just when I took a cursory look a few months ago at the drivers side it looked quite good but once I got the grinder out it was 90% filler 10% rust and no metal! Lol

  18. Great work. Can't believe you did all that work round the back end and kept the engine in!

  19. Thanks! To be honest once exhaust was off and rear engine cowling it wasn't in the way at all!

  20. Some more piccies of the rot and fresh air![IMG]
70% of bottom of side panel is ok!
    But……
    [IMG]
    She's been in a dink!
B pillar and wheel arch rusted out!

    Windows bit knackered as well!

All doable though! Would love to get lower middle window repair panel that includes the bulge but can't find any! Any ideas? There was one for sale on here last week but was for a left hooker so wouldn't fit mine!
